The Tarbert Office was opened during 1987, at the time it was felt that there was a need to have a presence in Argyll to service a broad range of rural businesses and Tarbert seemed to be a particularly suitable spot. When the office opened the client base was not large, however, over the years the client numbers have shown a marked increase and client demands are now met by five staff members. As one can imagine, with a rural accounting practice, we have a very interesting variety of clients including fishing, farming, hotels, restaurants, building clients and retailing. These clients give us an insight into what drives the local economy and with this knowldege we are able to advise our clients accordingly.
Although the office is situated in Tarbert we have clients throughout Argyll and the Islands with a particular strong presence on Islay, it is no coincidence that Islay has a very fine golf course!
Being based rurally, we feel that our accessibility is a major advantage to our clients together with the highly trained and motivated staff who have access to the latest IT and Accounting and Tax Software, we are able to offer our clients a high level of service and attention.
The village of Tarbert lies at the head of East Loch Tarbert, an inlet of Loch Fyne, one of Scotlands safest natural harbours. We are approximately 100 miles from Glasgow,a 2.5 hour drive, and 35 miles from Campbeltown, a 45 minute drive.
There is a strong tradition of fishing, who hasn't heard of Loch Fyne Kippers, and farming and while these two industries continue to flourish tourism is steadily becoming a major influence on the local economy.
