Sandy Smith
Sandy Smith joined Hunter Faulds & Co in 1973, becoming a partner 1 April 1974. He previously was tax manager of Touche Ross Glasgow (now Deloitte & Touche). He served his apprenticeship with a Kilmarnock firm of accountants, where he recieved a comprehensive grounding in the preparation of farm accounts.
He therefore brought to Hunter Faulds & Co an expertise in both taxation and farm accounting, and on the retiral of Hunter Faulds in 1981, Sandy took responsibility for all farming taxation and accounting matters. He has now has over 20 years involvement in the purchase and sale of farms and his client portfolio of farmers has steadily increased.
Sandy's other interests include golf, and he is a member of Loudoun Gowf Club.
